Qinqiang is the local opera of the Shaanxi area, also known as Bangzi opera, that is said to trace back to Qin Dynasty (220-206 BC). It is the ancestor to most major regional operas in north and west China. This song illustrates the distinct "bitter tone" style in Qinqiang music.
