Furling my sail near the town of Huai,

I find for harbour a little cove

luò fān dòu huái zhèn ， tínɡ fǎnɡ lín ɡū yì 。
落 帆 逗 淮 镇 ， 停 舫 临 孤 驿 。

From office confinement all year long,
I have come out of town to be free this morning

lì shě jú zhōnɡ nián ， chū jiāo kuànɡ qīnɡ shǔ 。
吏 舍 跼 终 年 ， 出 郊 旷 清 曙 。

I had so long been troubled by official hat and robe

That I am glad to be an exile here in this wild southland.
jiǔ wéi zān zǔ lèi ， xìnɡ cǐ nán yí zhé 。
久 为 簪 组 累 ， 幸 此 南 夷 谪 。

Who is lovelier than she?

Yet she lives alone in an empty valley.
jué dài yǒu jiā rén ， yōu jū zài kōnɡ ɡǔ 。
绝 代 有 佳 人 ， 幽 居 在 空 谷 。

rén shēnɡ bù xiānɡ jiàn ， dònɡ rú cān yù shānɡ 。
人 生 不 相 见 ， 动 如 参 与 商 。
